Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs Les 7 Crus, Agrapart & Fils

Inventory Status: 2

From one of the top grower-producers based in Avize, Agrapart makes this rich, distinctive Champagne, mostly from grand cru vineyards. Quite dry and intense on the palate, with stunning mouth presence and persistence on the finish. Unquestionably, one of the best values you'll find in high quality Champagnes.

"The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs 7 Crus is beautiful, wiry and bursting with pure energy. Lemon, mint, white flowers and crushed rocks jump from the glass in a vibrant, crystalline Champagne endowed with striking purity. The style is all about focus and tension. In other words, this is pure Agrapart. In this release, the 7 Crus is a blend of equal parts 2009 and 2008, two completely different vintages that could not be more opposite and complementary. The 7 Crus is a blend of 70% Grand Cru fruit (from Avize, Oger, Oiry, Cramant and Avenay), and 30% Premier Cru fruit (from Val d'Or, Bergeres les Vertus and Mardeuil). It is a great introduction to the wines of this small, family-run domaine. Dosage was 7 grams per liter. Disgorged December 2012..Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015." 91/100 Antonio Galloni, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"As folks may recall, Agrapart's 'Les 7 Crus' bottling is a lower dosage Blanc de Blancs bottling that offers up superb balance and accessibility in a drier-styled Brut format. The current release from this superb estate in Avize is outstanding, offering up a complex and vibrant bouquet of apple, white peach, brioche, chalky soil tones and a nice touch of lemon peel in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, complex and well balanced, with a fine core, elegant mousse, bright acids and a very long, classy and still fairly youthful finish. This is a lovely wine that is already quite tasty, but which should fully blossom with another year of bottle age, as there is just a slight backend sense of reserve that underscores that this is still a young wine. Lovely juice. 2011-2030." 91/100 John Gilman, View From the Cellar

"Beginning with this edition, the 7 Crus incorporates a small amount of pinot noir from Avenay (about 5 percent of the total blend), so it's no longer a blanc de blancs. This is composed of equal parts 2009 and 2008, and it feels round and ripe, with a rich texture and expansive fragrance. There's a pronounced salinity under the lively notes of apple and citrus, and while this appears slightly fuller in body than previous versions, it maintains an energetic tension on the palate, unfolding with subtle complexity and persistent length." 1-2 Stars Peter Liem,
