"Dark, ripe and distinct for its rich, exuberant black cherry and blackberry flavors, it turns supple and polished, with a long, full finish." 92/100 Wine Spectator

"Good news/bad news. First the bad news--this will be the last vintage of a long and enjoyable vineyard designate. We'll miss this lovely wine. The good news--this is probably the ripest full-bodied Olivet Lane wines I have ever had from Williams & Selyem. This medium/dark colored pinot exhibits a perfume nose of cherry/cola,, ripe plums, nutmeg/cloves, and sweet fruit and oak tannins. The alcohol begins to peek through in the finish, but should mature well with the concentration of fruit and tannins." Bob Cabral, 1999

Medium dark ruby color; bouquet of black cherries, sweet oak, plums and cola with a hint of clove; rich entry of plum and currant flavors with mouth coating ripe tannins, slightly hot now but should resolve itself with a couple of years aging; dried black cherry finish." Burt Williams, 1999
