Another terrific vintage for one of the best California Chardonnay’s over the past thirty years.

"Dehlinger's 2012 Chardonnay Estate is gorgeous. Apricot pit, peach, spices, brioche, butter and hints of honey all meld together in a gracious supple wine endowed with tons of class and personality. Layers of flavor build to the rich, voluptuous finish. This is a classic Russian River Chardonnay built on texture and resonance. When I think of the Russian River Valley and its reference-point producers, Dehlinger is always top of mind. Eva Dehlinger is back from a year of studying viticulture in Burgundy. My sense is that she has the ambition to take quality through the roof at her family's winery. This is another superb set of wines from one of Sonoma's pioneering families." 93/100 Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media

"A dose of toasty, spicy oak gives the rich pear fruit a touch of butterscotch. Bold and focused, with a long, persistent finish. Drink now through 2021. 1,700 cases made." 92/100 Wine Spectator

"Our Chardonnay is composed primarily of the Wente Clone, which produces small clusters and berries and has a notable minerality with an almost oily viscosity.  We ferment and age the Chardonnay in French oak barrels with full malolactic fermentation.  We planted our Chardonnay vines between 1975 and 1988, positioned on a variety of exposures in Goldridge series soils. Careful leafing allows dappled light to reach the clusters and we thin to balance the crop load." Dehlinger
