Le Coste is a farm land in the southern end of Tuscany, closer to Rome than to Florence. Since ancient times it has been found to be a perfect place for growing vines, olive trees, fruit trees and other crops. A young couple, Clementine and Gian Marco Antonuzi, took over the land in 2004, and restored it to its traditional use, practicing natural farming and maintaining the local vine and crop varieties. One of the most joyful wines they make is a liter bottle of the Litrozzo Bianco, a blend of indigenous white grape varieties, including Procanino and Trebbiano. The vines are farmed using organic and biodynamic methods and the wine is made naturally with indigenous yeasts and without addition of sulfites or other additives, then bottled unfined and unfiltered. This is a light and bracing wine, sharp to the palate with intense minerality. Although this is a fantastic wine with food, particularly seafood and vegetable dishes, it is so refreshing to sip on its own. Le Coste, along with Franck Cornelissen, Oliver Cousin, Jean-Pierre Robinot, Jolly Ferriol, and others, is part of the organization S.A.I.N.S. 11% alcohol
