Planted on steep, terraced slopes with red-blue slate. Vine roots go down as much as 30 meters (nearly 100 feet). Flowery nose, delicately flavored with hints of peach, butterscotch, and minerals. The initial sweetness of the fruit is deliciously balanced by the excellent acidity, making the wine refreshingly off-dry and highlighting its beautiful elegance. A great buy!

"Strawberry-rhubarb and clover aromas in the nose of the 2007 Winninger Rottgen Riesling Kabinett lead to a delicate, luscious, and invigoratingly tart palate impression, one somewhat at odds with the general stylistic trend of Knebel's wines from this vintage. Not that a sense of textural richness or underlying stuffing is missing here though, on the contrary. The magic of Mosel Riesling Kabinett in which acidity and extract buffer residual sugar in an inimitably refreshing and light-weight package prevails even in that river's lowest reaches where bigger-boned and -bodied dry wines are the norm. This example of the former style (which Knebel renders largely for Japanese clients) should hold well for at least 6-8 years." 90/100 David Schildknecht, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
