Made by the young, rising star in the Veneto, Nicola Ferrari, who trained with legendary Giiuseppe Quintarelli at a young age. Since establishing his own estate in 2006 he has been applying his skills and knowledge learned from Quintarelli to make one of the region's great Amarone. This 2008 from one of the greatest vintages in the region in recent years reflects the magnificent quality of that year. Fermented long and slow, from 4 to 6 weeks. The wine was aged in barriques for 30 months and another 6 months in bottle before release. This is top tier Amarone. Gorgeous scents of wildberries. Full-bodied, powerful, yet velvety in the mouth, with very fine tannins, and superb length in the finish.

"Made in his spare time by the famous Quintarelli's winemaker. Flavours of dried cherries and lots of life and energy. There is real nerve to this dried-grape wine. Much cheaper examples proliferate but this has great fruit and bite. Persistent. 16%." Jancis Robinson Top 100 Reds December 2012
