From one of Burgundy's widely respected biodynamic producer, this comes from Pinot Noir vines averaging 50 years-old--from a 3 hectare parcel near Pommard consisting of vines planted between 1950 and 1990. The vines have been biodynamically farmed since 1984. Half of the vines are low-trained the traditional way in Burgundy, while the other half of the vines are trained in the lyre method, which promotes greater ripening. The fruit was brought in with a strict selection, then vinified with a long maceration in wooden vats and aged in barrels for twelve months. This wine not only has a delicious ripeness and concentration, but also a wonderful purity. An overachiever from this highly acclaimed vintage!
