A white Rhone-style blend of 62% Marsanne, 25% skin fermented Grenache Blanc, and 13% Vermentino from the Fenaughty and Swansboro Vineyards in El Dorado Hills in the Sierra Foothills. The grapes were on decomposed granited with red clay loam at 2,800 feet elevation. Yields were just 2-2.5 tons/acre. Vinified with natural yeasts and aged in neutral wood for ten months. Luscious pear and apple notes, with hints of ginger, honeycomb, and aromatic spices, as well as a herbal streak. Crisp, tart, and minerally, with each sip refreshing. Notwithstanding the cloudiness and slight sedimentation--as it was bottled unfined and unfiltered--this wine is seamlessly balanced, and crafted with skill! Only 95 cases made.

"(made from 62% marsanne, 25% skin-fermented grenache blanc and 13% vermentino; bottled without fining or filtration): Light, hazy gold. An exotically perfumed bouquet evokes dried peach, pear skin and honey, with a floral overtone. Juicy and light on its feet, offering vibrant orchard fruit flavors brightened by a touch of lemon zest. Closes dry and chewy, with lingering spiciness and a refreshingly bitter quality. Pretty wild stuff, as I've come to expect--and like--from this idiosyncratic winery." 90/100 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
