From one of the greatest vintages in the Northern Rhone, this is an awesomely beautiful wine and one of the greatest values in Northern Rhone reds. 100% Syrah from the lower terraced slopes of the vineyard where vines are 20 to 30 years-old. Vinified in concrete with up to 32 days of maceration with pigeage. The wine was aged for about 18 months in a combination of barrel and demi-muid. Tailor-perfect for the vintage, as it offers everything one can hope for in a great Northern Rhone Syrah: fragrance, elegance, richness of fruit, and structure.

"Dark, bright colour. Roast suckling pig with nutty aspects, a continuous bouquet, a murmur of blackberry within. There is a good surge of berry, mulberry fruit on the palate--it moves along well, amplifies, shows no reserve along the palate--ebullient wine here, a very good example of Crozes-Hermitage. There is a smudge of licorice and black fruit paste on the finish. The tannins need 6-9 months to infuse their graininess on the end. Good length, good stuff. 13%. To 2018." 4-5 Stars/6 Stars John Livingstone-Learmonth, DrinkRhone
