Mantinia Moschofilero, Tselepos Estate 2010

From 100% Moschofilero grapes vinified with about 8 hours of skin contact to extract flavors and gain body. Very Gruner-like, but lighter and expressive. Cool, herbal, mineral flavors that's refreshing and full of character. At just 12% alcohol, this is well-balanced and pure, a brilliant wine made from an indigenous Greek variety grown at a high elevation of 2,000 feet in the foothills of Mount Parnon in the Peleponnese peninsula. Dijon oenology graduate and Burgundy-trained, Yiannis Tselepos, established his wine estate in 1989. He seeks to make wines expressive of their origins, especially with indigenous Greek grapes. This a stunning example of his work!
