The most complete of Cuilleron's trio of Cote-Roties. The fruit comes from parcels in Rochains, Viallere, and Rozier in the Cote Brune hillside terraced vineyards that are farmed without applying herbicides or chemicals. The blending is perfect. 100% Syrah from schisty soils. Quite mineral, especially in this vintage, with superb concentration of fruit and ripe tannins. Aggressive, powerful, and nicely textured. Really pure and expressive.

"Pretty full robe; the nose is complete, well-packed, not yet defining itself, but the black fruit is well-installed and persistent, friendly. Along with the notably ripe dark fruit feature meat stock, wisps of licorice. The palate flows in a juicy way, is appealing, typical of 2009. The fruit circulates freely, comes with late droplets of scent in the raspberry flavour. Good balance, cleanly made, Beau Vin. Good clarity, also--this has a future, is very, very sound.
