Spectacularly delicious! From 73-year-old vines of 75% Nebbiolo, 15% Croatina, and 10% Vespolina in northern Piedmont. It is every bit as refined, complex, and powerful as Barolo. Maybe even more so. Its ripe, concentrated layers of sweet black cherries, tart plums, red licorice, sweet herbs, and minerals are irresistibly luscious, fresh, textured, and accompanied by velvety tannins. Awesome length on the finish. A perfect wine. A muscular wine that's all charm. Made by one of the oldest estate and winemaking families in Piedmont, dating back to at least 1671.

"This new label, Bramaterra I Porfidi 2003, brought the winery its second Three Glass Award. The selection, aged in ten-hectolitre barrels and barriques, has slipped seamlessly into the range, showing unusually aristocratic elegance and harmony." Three Glasses Tre Bicchieri, Gambero Rosso
