We are extremely careful in the selection and buying of our library wines and source only from reliable vendors. In almost all cases, we taste a bottle from the batch to check the quality. However, since these are aged wines, we make no guarantees. SALES OF ALL LIBRARY WINES ARE FINAL |

Saint-Julien Fourth Growth, Château Beychevelle 1978
A really good surprise from an irregular vintage. This was kept well since released by a private collector. If you reference very recent Cellar Tracker tastings of this wine you will find many satisfactory experiences, particularly with bottles that have been well-kept. A very good buy as current market prices are much higher worldwide. Well-colored, smooth, well-balanced fruit that finishes well.

Pomerol, Château Beauregard 1985
Pristine and drinking absolutely awesome! A bottle opened just recently showed remarkable energy. People can easily mistake it for a 5 to 10 year-old wine! Made just before Michel Rolland started consulting here in 1987 during the Clauzel family regime which brought stability and renown to this estate during its long ownership from 1920 to 1991. This is the best vintage for Beauregard during the '80s. 70 percent Merlot and30 percent Cabernet Franc. Rare but very modestly priced given its pristine condition and quality.
"Full colour. Still immature. Rich concentrated nose. Good fruit. Some oak. A ripe wine with backbone. Good. Finely poised, elegant, oaky. Fullish. Still tannic. Fine fruit. Good grip. This is long and complex. Very fine for what it is. 1995-2015" 17.0/20 Clive Coates
"The 1985, tasted in 1990, was gorgeous; despite its surprising softness, it was concentrated and deep. I imaged it would keep well." Stephen Brook, The Complete Bordeaux

Rioja Gran Reserva "Vina Bosconia", R. Lopez de Heredia 1981
The "El Bosque" vineyard, source of Vina Bosconia, lies beside the Ebro River with clay and limestone soils. The grapes planted are Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo, and Graciano. The blend usually contains a slightly higher percentage of Tempranillo than the Vina Tondonia, but the elevage is the same, about 10 years in large American oak cask and another 9 years in bottle. A bit feminine compare to Vina Tondonia, this has sweeter aromas, spicier notes, and voluptuous texture.
"Faded red. Gorgeous , multidimensional aromas of dried red fruits, white flowers, spicecake, leather, underbrush, graphite and lavender sachet. Sil ky and seemingly weightless, with a haunting crystalline purity to the sweet strawberry and redcurrant flavors Sweetly insinuating on the finish, with lingering mineral and strawberry flavors. A remarkable wine that's completely out of step with today's styles : this is the stuff that gets die-hard Rioja traditionalists all weepy." 94/100 Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar $128.00 |

Rioja Gran Reserva "Vina Tondonia", R. Lopez de Heredia 1985
The Tondonia vineyard overlooks the Ebro River on the right bank across the winery. Tempranillo, Mazuelo, Graciano, and Garnacha grapes are planted to make the red wines for the estate’s flagship Gran Reserva. To mature the Gran Reserva Vina Tondonia, it undergoes in large American oak barrels for up to 10 years and another 9 years in bottle. After release the wine continues to evolve in bottle, gaining in finesse, elegance, and complexity over the years. Comparable to a well aged grand cru Burgundy or top growth Bordeaux, but a lot more reasonable in price!
"Deeper orange-red. Knockout perfumed nose of great purity and complexity: strawberry, milk chocolate, loam and an intriguing muskiness. Great clarity and grip in the mouth thanks to brilliantly harmonious acids. Has buns of steel but also a wonderful penetrating sweetness. Tannins are suave and resolved. An extremely elegant, very intensely flavored Rioja with superb persistence on the palate." 95/100 Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar $120.00 |

Barolo DOCG "Sperss", Angelo Gaja 1990
A monumental Barolo from one of the greatest, classic vintages in Piedmont’s history. Amazingly youthful, with decades of life ahead. Purchased by the Gaja family in1988 to produce Barolo from estate-owned vineyard, the Sperss vineyard is one of the best in Serralunga, with Nebbiolo vines almost 30 years-old in 1990. This wine is in pristine condition and impeccably cellared. A great buy!
“Gaja’s 1990 Barolo Sperss is a sweet, seamless beauty endowed with gorgeous fruit. The wine possesses superb inner perfume and purity even if it doesn’t quite reach the level of Gaja’s most successful wines in this vintage. Still, this is pure 1990 and pure Serralunga. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2030.” 95/100 Antonio Galloni, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate $345.00 |

Chambertin Grand Cru, Domaine Jean & Jean-Louis Trapet 1993
Since the takeover of Jean-Louis Trapet in 1990, converting the estate to organic and biodynamic farming and reducing yields, the domaine has consistently produced its best wines. The flagship Chambertin comes from a sizeable parcel, with vines planted in 1919 onwards. This 1993 Chambertin is a gem! From one of the greatest vintages for red Burgundy in the past 20 years. Amazingly still youthful, with years of life ahead!
“Full colour. Soft nose, but still youthful and unformed. Ripe and plumy. Fullish on the palate. Still a little tannin to resolve. Good grip. Classy and profound. Vigorous. Fine. Will still improve. (April 2005). Now to 2020.” 17.5/20.0 Clive Coates, The Wines of Burgundy
“Loads of lovely, ripe berry, cherry and earth aromas and flavors. Medium- to full-bodied, velvety tannins and fresh finish. Needs time; better in 2000.” 92/100 Wine Spectator

Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, Dalla Valle 1995
One of Heidi Barrett's best wines while at Dalla Valle, this brilliantly concentrated, well-balanced, and meaty Cabernet continues to improve and achieve elegance as it ages. Impeccably stored since release.
"Impressively saturated ruby color. Knockout floral nose combines blackcurrant, spices and shoe polish. Lush and supple in the mouth, with extraordinarily pure fruit character, yet more tightly wrapped than the '96 due to stronger acidity. Really juicy and penetrating, though, and very long on the finish." 95(+?)/100 Stephen Tanzer"s International Wine Cellar

Released in 2007 from the fabulous Maison Leroy 2007 Collection. 1995 is one of the greatest vintages for white Burgundies of the past twenty years and this fabulous bottling by Leroy is a testimony to that. Golden straw color. Pear, mineral, citrus oil. Viscous, very rich and lush. Intense in the mouth with a long finish. Batard-like richness. A gem in this collection. And considering the Leroy pedigree and the excellence of the vintage a really great buy! $146.00 |

Napa Merlot, Pahlmeyer 1997
Benchmark Napa Merlot that?s dense with ripe black fruit extract, and supple enough to be very enjoyable.
"Pahlmeyer's 1997 Merlot may be the finest Merlot ever produced in California. A profound blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, it offers gorgeous smoky, black cherry liqueur aromas mixed with melted fudge. The wine is unctuously textured, super-concentrated, low in acidity, rich, and multilayered. This is a spectacular, hedonistic effort to drink over the next 15-20 years." 96/100 Robert M. Parker, Jr., The Wine Advocate
"Saturated ruby-red. Explosive aromas of black raspberry, cassis, graphite, tar, minerals and toffee. Lush, superripe and very deep, with almost confectionary sweetness. Thick but not heavy. Very long and lush on the aftertaste, with fine tannins buried in fruit. Compelling merlot with great sex appeal." 93/100 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

Russian River Pinot Noir "Reserve Little Hill Block", J. Rochioli 1997
The Little Hill Block rises just above the West Block. The soils are limited and rocky which impart a unique quality to this wine. 2.2 acres were planted in 1985 with West Block Selection. Eight to ten barrels are produced. Delicious concentration and freshness. A great vintage for this wine.

Russian River Pinot Noir "Reserve West Block", J. Rochioli 1997
Yields are a bit higher in the West Block as compared to the Three Corner Vineyard and the East Block, but that doesn't tell the story. Joe Rochioli planted this vineyard in a great site, southwest-facing and able to trap the rays of the sun very well. Yields are less than 2 tons/acre and just 16 barrels are produced. Fleshy and well concentrated, with beautiful ripe Pinot flavors that are lushly textured.

"Good colour. Firm, rich, backward, profound nose. Slightly austere, like their 2001 Grands Echezeaux. But lots of very classy wine here. Medium-full body. Good, ripe tannins, although by no means a blockbuster. Nice long finish. Lots of finesse. This will keep well.
